- the trick is that the best way to mount the lap belts is using
- the factory hard points on the floor, by taking out the bolts
- that secure the seatbelts and installing eyebolts (the thread pattern
- is very standard, and the appropriate eyebolts are common.) however,
- apparently this constitutes tampering with the stock restraint system
- (despite the fact that its actual safety is unchanged), and is so illegal
- according to the the US DOT.
