- I own a '87 5.0L Mustang. To put it lightly, I am not mechanically inclined
- and don't know that much about the inner workings of car.

- Lately, I have noticed a knocking and banging sounds coming from the car
- at certain RPM's. The best way to describe the sound is that it sounds like
- a stone trapped in the exhaust system. The sound comes from the exhaust system
- and not the engine compartment. Could one of the catalytic convertors need
- replacing.
