- If it's the type that requires pulling the half shafts to remove the bearing,
- you can use an old wheel rim as a cheap "puller". Dismantle the rear brake (if
- necessary), remove bolts that attach the brake backing plate to the axle
- housing, install the old wheel, and whack the inner rim with a sledge hammer to
- drive out the axle shaft.

- After removing the lock nut, you can probably pry off the wheel bearing with a
- pair of tire irons or heavy screwdrivers; if not, carry it to a machine shop to
- get it removed. Don't fail to replace the outer axle seal and gasket, before
- installing the new bearing on the axle shaft.
