- Hold the phone, son!! I'm pretty sure that DOT just requires that
- the original safety belts not be removed from the car, not that you
- can't ADD a 4-point or 5-point. I'm building an SCCA IT race car,
- and it plainly says you have to leave the driver and passenger belts
- in a car that will be driven on the street so it will pass
- inspection. However, some states are more picky than the DOT, and
- that is a different story...
