- I just battled all of this a month or so ago. If I got it right,
- GL-4 is meant for manual transmissions, and GL-5 is meant for
- differentials. GL-5 has additives which will corrode the synchros
- in a transmission expecting GL-4, so use GL-4 unless specifically
- told to do otherwise. (GL-5 and 6 do not replace GL-4)
