  10. I'm trying to prepare myself for some car insurance shopping. I assume that
  11. car insurance companies will get a "traffic violations report" of a client
  12. before issuing a new policy. So here are my questions:

  14. Where do car insurance companies get traffic violations reports?
  15. Are they inquiring in the state of application or is there a federal bureau?
  16. Where can the consumer (me) get his/her report?
  17.  
  18. I suspect that the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a State office,  could provide 
  19. such a report, but I've been unable to reach a living being there so far.
  20. (During office hours their line is always busy).
