- For the above reason as well as other ways a microwave oven can get
- inadvertently activated (kids, pets etc), I recommend always leaving a
- large container of water in the oven when it is not in use. A full
- saucepan-sized container of water will probably still have some water
- left in it after the usual 1 hour maximum cycle time of most ovens. During
- operation the water will dissipate most of the oven's energy as it boils.

- That being said however, nothing beats pulling the plug on the oven when
- you are away!
