  16. The Mexican government is trying to imposse a fraudulent Governor and Congress
  17. against the law and the people's will in the state of Michoacan in Mexico.
  18.         On August 13TH, in a clandestine meeting, sorrounded by the army, in
  19. the basement of unoficial building, without precious and without the presence
  20. of the PRD representatives, an totally illegal "Electoral College" called
  21. by the party-state PRI, gave the victory of the elections to the Salinas
  22. candidate.
  23.         In what constitutes a total violation of the National and state
  24. constitutions, the PRI-state decided to ommite the legal complains presented by
  25. the Democratic Revolution Party PRD, and in few minutes decided that the next
  26. governor of Michoacan is the PRI-state candidate.
  27.         This happens just a week after the PRI rejected its own proposition
  28. of make a public comparision of the all of the certificates of the elections
  29. The PRD had accept the proposition adding the necessity of free access to the
  30. national and international press.
  31.         The people of Michoacan have sourrended the City hall asking for
  32. respect of their votes and the constitution, and yesterday sunday August 16th
  33. more than 25,000 people participated in a rally in that same place suporting
  34. the struggle for democracy.
  35.         Even though independent national and international (mostly americans)
  36. electoral observers groups denounced an enourmous array of irregularities and
  37. violations of the law by the PRI-STATE and the enormous amount of legal
  38.  evidence of electoral fraud provided by the PRD, the Mexican PRI-STATE
  39. decided to continue its ilegal behavior.
  40.         The PRD and a lot of other mexican democrats have decided to continue
  41. a civic and peaceful movement of resistance to dictatorship and have called
  42. for a national demostration next Saturday August 29th in the "Zocalo" of
  43. Mexico City calling for DEMOCRACIA YA! DEMOCRACY NOW!
  44.
