- The Eye Gallery in San Francisco will have a photographic
- exhibit on Guatemalan Street Children. For more information

- Where: Eye Gallery 1151 Mission Street, SF
- When: Benefit Reception August 28, 6-10 pm, program starts
- at 7 pm

- Exhibit runs August 26-August 30

- A photographic exhibition by 7 locally and nationally known
- photographers documentiong the lives of Guatemalan street
- children. Benefit reception on August 28th will include a
- program of music, speakers, and a slide presentation.
- Guatemalan music is by the group Ixim Tinamit. Proceeds from
- print sales and the reception go to Casa Alianza/Covenant
- House, an aid organization that provides outreach to street
- children.

- Photographers include Diana Smith and Darcy Padilla, David
- Maung of Impact Visuals, LA-based Jeff Share, NY-based Ed
- Quinn, Miquel Luis Fairbanks, 1990 World Press Association
- Feature Photo Award winner, and Antonin Kratochvil, 1991
- World Press Association Photographer of the World. Also
- include are several photographs by street children themselves
- through a project of photographer Nancy McGirr.

- This exhibition gives an intimate look into the lives of
- children living on the streets and int he dumps of Guatemala
- City. Recenlty their plight has been highlighted by Amnesty
- International and Americas Watch, deatiling beatings, abuse
- and even assasinations by vigilante death squads, the militayr
- and police.
