  13.  I'm a newbie to vm, and so far I like it very much, especially its
  14. ability to extract messages from digests (I converted from elm).
  15. However, I have one problem: sometimes vm does not recognaize my mail
  16. packets. It knows the location of the file and everything but
  17. sometimes it incorporates the mail and other times it tells me that no
  18. mail has arraived, although mail did arrave.

  20.  I think that depending on the first message of the packet, sometimes
  21. vm does not recognize that the file is a valid mail file; for example,
  22. editing the mail packet and removing the first message somtimes solves
  23. the problem.

  25.  I inspected vm.el and there is a function called
  26. vm-compatible-folder-p, but I couldn't make any sense of it (I don't
  27. know elisp well enough).

  29.  So the question is: what is it that vm is looking for in the mail
  30. packet to recognize it? I can then write a small shell script that would add
  31. that to the packet so that vm would identify it.

  33.  BTW, I'm using vm 5.31 (beta), and  elm had no problem with any of my
  34. packets whatsoever. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
