  4. Subject: vi dumps core on one machine, not other.  Any suggestions?

  11. The problem:  vi dumps core on one DS5000/120 but not on another one.

  13. On the core-dumping machine, vi used to work, but suddenly it started to
  14. dump core when ever I entered 'vi', 'e', 'view'....
  15.  
  16. So I downloaded vi from another DS5000/120.  
  17. I 'cmp' the downloaded vi with the original vi.  No difference.  
  18. Fine I thought.  So I start up the downloaded vi.  Same result: Core 
  19. dumped.  I log in to the machine that I downloaded from.  
  20. Start vi.  No problem at all.

  22. (vi on the original machine used to be allright and comparing the two 'vi's
  23. gave back that they were identical.)
