  11. I don't know much about the solutions that exist out there, so I can
  12. use some pointers and recommendations.

  14. I have a small ethernet running tcp/ip, ftp, nfs and the like between
  15. my unix and dos machines; they share a dumb serial printer.  I have
  16. a couple of macs and a LaserWriter on PhoneNet and LocalTalk.  I would
  17. like the mac to be able to use the ethernet to get files snarfed from
  18. the net on the unix machine.  I would like the unix machine, and maybe
  19. the dos machine to be able to use the LaserWriter.

  21. I know there's a thing called GatorBox which with the GatorShare software
  22. can accomplish this, but it's pricey.

  24. I know I can get ethernet cards for the mac, but I'm afraid that won't
  25. make the LaserWriter visible to the unix machine, though I'm not sure
  26. and I assume the right software running in the mac could make it happen.

  28. There may be other products, too.

  30. I'm assuming I'll have to shell out $300 or $400 for the whole solution,
  31. if I can find it.
