- I don't know much about the solutions that exist out there, so I can
- use some pointers and recommendations.
-
- I have a small ethernet running tcp/ip, ftp, nfs and the like between
- my unix and dos machines; they share a dumb serial printer. I have
- a couple of macs and a LaserWriter on PhoneNet and LocalTalk. I would
- like the mac to be able to use the ethernet to get files snarfed from
- the net on the unix machine. I would like the unix machine, and maybe
- the dos machine to be able to use the LaserWriter.
-
- I know there's a thing called GatorBox which with the GatorShare software
- can accomplish this, but it's pricey.
-
- I know I can get ethernet cards for the mac, but I'm afraid that won't
- make the LaserWriter visible to the unix machine, though I'm not sure
- and I assume the right software running in the mac could make it happen.
-
- There may be other products, too.
-
- I'm assuming I'll have to shell out $300 or $400 for the whole solution,
- if I can find it.
-
- Help, anyone?
