  31. the problem here is that the X server needs a vt?? virtual console 
  32. device to run.

  34. the poster here probally enabled all of the vt devices in his/her 
  35. /dev directory.

  37. the solution is to disable one or create a new one and not enable
  38. it.  I could not for the life of me understand why one would have
  39. all of the virtual consoles enabled if one wanted to run the
  40. machine as an X workstation!!
