  31. Here's one that uses a geometry Fujitsu recommends.  Note that the
  32. cylinder count is greater than the physical - evidently it is more
  33. important that the head and sectors/track count stay correct.  The swap
  34. is figured for if you want to run X with 8 MB RAM.  If you want to
  35. change this configuration, keep in mind that the root and usr partition
  36. sizes must be a  multiple of 16 (the cpg value for ba#8192).  The
  37. product nt * ns * nc must not exceed 1015812 - the number of sectors
  38. that you are allowed to use (you can use more, but then you defeat the
  39. disks spare  sector remapping).  The pc: and pd: values must
  40. reflect your 386BSD and whole disk sizes, respectively.

  42. Finally, if you use the disk under DOS, you will notice that it only
  43. sees 496 cylinders.  This is actually the geometry I use on my SCSI disk
  44. (M2624FA), but this evidently won't work with IDE.  The problem is that
  45. 386BSD disables IDE sector translation which makes this possible.
