- I am now using a RS/6000 340 and am new to AIX 3.2.
- Could someone with more experience tell me whether it
- is worth using aixwm over mwm/twm, and similarly what
- advantages or disadvantages there are in using aixterm
- over the more standard xterm? I can not get a feeling
- for the AIX "improvements" just by reading man or info
- pages.
-
- The man page suggests that aixterm can produce 16 color
- output, but I have no idea what uses this feature.
-
- Also, a simple question: how does one scroll a single
- or a few lines in a AIX scroll bar? For a large file,
- the scroll bar moves text too quickly and most clicks I
- have tried jump a page, rather than a few lines, at a
- time, which is sometimes awkward for reading. Also
- trying is the fact that the scroll bar does not track
- the mouse very accurately, so that the scroll bar has
- to catch up to the mouse, leading to an overshooting of
- the window.
-
- Thanks,
-
