  14. We're enjoying SCO UNIX V R3.2.2, but when we run the name server daemon 
  15. (named) our TCP/IP telnet access has slowed markedly.  It takes over 1 minute
  16. to receive the login prompt from the system for a TCP/IP connection.  Removing
  17. the name server speeds us back up again.

  19. Any configuration changes which can be suggested to improve this problem.

  21. Another by product of the condition seems to be that SMTP daemons which are
  22. spawned by inetd can't get enough resources while named is running to receive
  23. mail properly..  Things couldn't be too much worse.  I don't want to choose
  24. between my name server and these other important services
