- Hi,
-
- We're enjoying SCO UNIX V R3.2.2, but when we run the name server daemon
- (named) our TCP/IP telnet access has slowed markedly. It takes over 1 minute
- to receive the login prompt from the system for a TCP/IP connection. Removing
- the name server speeds us back up again.
-
- Any configuration changes which can be suggested to improve this problem.
-
- Another by product of the condition seems to be that SMTP daemons which are
- spawned by inetd can't get enough resources while named is running to receive
- mail properly.. Things couldn't be too much worse. I don't want to choose
- between my name server and these other important services
-
- Thanks in advance.
-
- Dean
