- I'm getting my 1993 budget ready (yes, we do it early in these parts of the
- woords), and I've had an end-run done around me.
-
- Our salesman has presented Mapper, and Designer Workbench, to some of my
- executive management and they like it. Now, as I'm sure many of you are
- aware, it isn't cheap.
-
- On our A15, ETP for Mapper itself is US$86,078; with DMS-View being around
- US$25K, and LINC-View about $24K. We already have LCW for our CP-2000's on
- order, so high-speed data-transmission isn't a major concern.
-
- What I want to know is, is it worth it? Personal opinions aside (mine are not
- very positive on products like this); was it implemented well? Does it give
- benefit to the user community? Can they use this without Designer Workbench
- reasonably?
-
- Any and all comments are invited, but please note that I'm asking about
- A-Series Mapper, and not Mapper in general.
-
- Personal e-mail to here (mbs@Turing.ORG), or to mbs@adastra.cvl.va.us
- (preferred).
