  12. This is an informal and unofficial note to let you know that
  13. comp.sys.unisys is now being gatewayed into the internal Unisys
  14. A Series Mail network (hereinafter referred to as "A Mail").
  15. Thanks to the kind offices of Mark Weber (markw@gvl.unisys.com)
  16. and some software tomfoolery on this end by Randy Gellens
  17. (randy%mpa15ab@trenga.tredydev.unisys.com) we can now read your
  18. posts.  A Mail runs on more hosts than I care to think about
  19. in a whole bunch of countries on most of the continents and is
  20. used by almost (but not quite) all of the A Series development
  21. and support people.

  23. Now for a whole bunch of disclaimers:

  25.   This isn't an official announcement.  I did ask if I could post this
  26.   and they said, "We guess so."
  27.  
  28.   This effort is experimental.  If the cord gets pulled tomorrow, don't
  29.   be surprised.

  31.   This is not an official communications channel.  Nothing posted in
  32.   this newsgroup by a Unisys employee should be construed to represent
  33.   an official statement by Unisys.  (This especially applies to this
  34.   message!) There are official channels available for communicating with
  35.   Unisys, please use them.

  37.   We will try to answer questions as we can.  However, availability of
  38.   the newsgroup does not mean that it will make to the terminal of the
  39.   expert who can best answer your question.  ("You can lead a programmer
  40.   to email but you can't make him read.")

  42. Before I get trounced I should mention that quite a few V Series folks
  43. are on the A Mail network, too.
  44.  
  45. My personal suggestion is that if you find this relevant that you might
  46. want to give try using it.
