  25. In a previous life, I was doing consulting work for a state agency
  26. (programming COBOL on an IBM System/36 - never again!).  There was a
  27. way to terminate certain jobs that ran before they were completed, and
  28. whenever I trapped the proper signal, I'd display a message "JOB
  29. ABORTED".  Once the job was compl;eted and had been running for a
  30. couple of weeks, a bigger cheese than the one who had contracted me
  31. came down to look at the system.  This guy took one look at the message
  32. and flipped, since he was anti-choice.  He insisted I change all of the
  33. messaged that said "ABORT".
