  10. The following messages are appearing in /var/adm/messages on
  11. one (two?) of our customer's machines.
  12.  
  13. From the time stamps, it appears as though software controlling
  14. these ports may be seeing what it thinks is a "Ring Indication"
  15. (DCD going high) at the same time this occurs.

  31. Unit 0 is the SP/C card (Sun SBus port expander) and the "line" numbers
  32. are the serial port numbers.

  34. We see only the stc_drainsilo messages at one of the customer sites.

  36. The configuration is:

  38. Sparc1+ clone (CompuAdd) and IPC
  39. Sbus Port Card, running Version 1.1 with patch 100464_01
  40. Ports are attached to a TS1000 (NET's StatMux, now called SPX5)
  41.     running at 9600 baud.

  43. The SBus cards attached to modems running at 2400 baud do NOT seem to 
  44. experience the same problems, so could it be that the TS1000 is 
  45. sending garbage to the SP/C card, or the SP/C card can't handle the
  46. speed of the TS1000?  As you can see, these messages are sporadic, as 
  47. we "talk" thru these ports multiple times (10-20) every hour.

  49. I've used the new SunSolve CD to search bugs/patches and common problems,
  50. as well as looked at the Patch List recently posted.  Due to various
  51. hardware/software vendors involved, we not sure who should be called in.

  53. Any insight, suggestions, (or even fixes???) would be greatly
  54. appreciated.
