  12. I have a strange problem when trying to start OpenWindows 3.0 from our
  13. Server.  When I do so, I get OpenWinodws up and running, but all
  14. characters are mees up.  It looks like a Korean or Japanese charset /
  15. font I'm running with.  Even the welcome screen of OpenWindows is messed
  16. up.  However, applications that pick a font in their Xresource database,
  17. display everything correctly.  I even copied .login, .cshrc, .xinitrc 
  18. and .Xdefaults from colleagues who run OpenWindows without any problems 
  19. and I get the same font problem on my screen.

  22. OS:  SunOS 4.1.1 sun4c

  24. PATH, XFONTPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are all set to $OPENWINHOME/......
  25. LANG is not set

  27. Setting *font to 9x15 or fixed in my .Xdefaults file won't help either.

  29. It can't be the .xinitrc settings, because this file will be executed,
  30. after the messed-up welcome screen of OpenWindows appears on the
  31. screen.

  33. Our OpenWindows specialist examined the problem and couldn't find out
  34. what the reason was.

  36. Does anyone have any suggestion what it could be?
