- I have a strange problem when trying to start OpenWindows 3.0 from our
- Server. When I do so, I get OpenWinodws up and running, but all
- characters are mees up. It looks like a Korean or Japanese charset /
- font I'm running with. Even the welcome screen of OpenWindows is messed
- up. However, applications that pick a font in their Xresource database,
- display everything correctly. I even copied .login, .cshrc, .xinitrc
- and .Xdefaults from colleagues who run OpenWindows without any problems
- and I get the same font problem on my screen.
-
- Machine: IPC
- OS: SunOS 4.1.1 sun4c
-
- PATH, XFONTPATH and LD_LIBRARY_PATH are all set to $OPENWINHOME/......
- LANG is not set
-
- Setting *font to 9x15 or fixed in my .Xdefaults file won't help either.
-
- It can't be the .xinitrc settings, because this file will be executed,
- after the messed-up welcome screen of OpenWindows appears on the
- screen.
-
- Our OpenWindows specialist examined the problem and couldn't find out
- what the reason was.
-
- Does anyone have any suggestion what it could be?
-
- Thanks in advance
