- A question on setting up a LaserWriter II for use on a Sun ...
-
- My Problem:
- I'm trying to set up a LW IIf for shared use between Macs
- (all running Sys 7) and our Sun (running 4.1.2). When I
- try to print a PostScript doc from the Sun to the LW, the
- 'busy' light flashes but no output is produced (the
- same doc prints ok from a Mac). My /etc/printcap seems
- ok - when I view the output sent by lpr on a terminal attached
- to the printer line nothing looks amiss. For now, I'm only interested
- in printing PostScript files on the Sun, plain text can wait.
-
- My Question:
- Does the LW require some sort of set-up job like LaserPrep
- (which is automatically downloaded on a Mac) before a print job?
- If so, can someone give me some pointers on where to find this
- info?
