  12. When running sysadm on an SGI workstation which is the master NIS
  13. server for a group of SGI workstations and attempting to add a new
  14. user I get the following message:

  16.     Yellow Page entry not in the master passwd file.
  17.         Please update your master passwd file and try again.
  18.  
  19. Am I doing something wrong?  Does anyone in the audience have a shell
  20. script to allow creating a new NIS account without having to manually
  21. edit the master passwd file each time?
