- The weekly puzzler from BU:
-
- A 4D-240 here has developed a rather peculiar problem. When
- the machine is first booted there's no problem using the tape
- drive, but a little while after that (maybe 1 hour) attempts
- to open the device return ENODEV. If it's rebooted, everything
- is fine again .. for a little while.
-
- For instance now I'm using distcp to copy 4.0.5. When I boot
- the machine I can use distcp fine, but after the first tape was
- done (sucessfuly) the drive disappeared!

-
- Is this a problem with 4.0.1? Will 4.0.5 fix it?
-
- Notes: There's nothing of interest in syslog. The drive always
- appears in hinv (before and after the "disappearance.")
