  12. Since some people dont know what a PDA is... A PDA Stands
  13. for Personal Digital Assistant, which apple is planning to ship
  14. in January. This is not a macintosh. It runs on an Acorn 601(?) which
  15. runs about 1.5 to 2 times faster than a Mac IIfx (40 mhzs 68030) and
  16. uses about 1/2 watt of power. This machine will ship at around 700.
  17. Apple claims that out of the box Newton (apples name for their pda)
  18. will have a 90% recognition but it will learn your style and get
  19. better. The PDA will be fully appletalk compatible, including serial
  20. connections and infared connections (future models will have better
  21. forms of connection)...

  23. Someother stuff: Apple is concentrating first on making the PDA
  24. work with IBMS and secondly connecting it with the mac as there are
  25. more PC users.
  26. Apple has licensed the tech to other companies, such as Toshiba,
  27. allowing for clones.
