  12. Howdy:
  13.     I have a couple of questions regarding NeXT boxes and certain
  14. processes. Yesterday a user was complaining that the NeXT station
  15. seemed slow and so I looked into it and ps reported two things that
  16. confuse me, I was hoping someone could explain this:

  27. The first quesetion regards the "- console (WindowServer)", this
  28. person logged in less than 10 minutes before I issued this command so
  29. it seems unlikely that it has chewed up 17hrs of CPU ;-( Also notice
  30. the very small PID, it clearly is a process that has been around for
  31. awhile.

  33. The second question regards the "ps aux" command seemingly owned by
  34. root, clearly kinch issued the command why does that not show up?
  35.  
  36. I am most intereseted in this as a matter of curiosity, however in the
  37. case of the console process, it is rather largeer than it need be and
  38. I noticed that when it got killed, the next login was *somewhat*
  39. faster.
