- While there are many possibilities, you might also want to consider
- TeX, which is *free* (in the sense that it's bundled) and is capable of
- making virtually any kind of table, including fancy rules, equations,
- mixed entries, a wide range of fonts, etc. etc.

- The basic rule of TeX is that making the *first* table is hard, but after
- that they're all pretty easy as you just recopy the same format. There
- are also several public domain macros specifically designed for making
- TeX easier (I've not used any of them, just know they exist). I have a
- couple of basic "templates" which I always use, and would be glad to offer
- them to anyone interested, but with a little thought you could probably
- write a far better one.
