- I am running NeXTSTEP 3.0 Beta here at work. We have a large number
- Macintosh's also on the net, as well as a number of printers that are
- being used by the Macintosh's. All of those printers are directly
- accessable to me via the net with NeXTSTEP 3.0. So, as a test....
-
- I printed a fairly complex postscript image to: (1) a LaserWriter Plus,
- (2) a LaserWriter IINTX, (3) a Varityper VT-600 (true 600 DPI--not some
- LED-pulse simulation on a 300 DPI engine), and (4) the NeXT Laser.
-
- The result: the NeXT laser output quality stomped everybody but the
- Varityper. Interestingly enough, some people thought the NeXT output
- looked as good or better than the Varityper.
-
- Oh, and the performance results: the NeXT laser printer stomped everybody.
-
- So, anybody that says ANY of the Apple laser printers are comparable to
- the NeXT just doesn't know what their talking about in my opinion.
