  56. I am running NeXTSTEP 3.0 Beta here at work.  We have a large number  
  57. Macintosh's also on the net, as well as a number of printers that are  
  58. being used by the Macintosh's.  All of those printers are directly  
  59. accessable to me via the net with NeXTSTEP 3.0.  So, as a test....
  60.  
  61. I printed a fairly complex postscript image to: (1) a LaserWriter Plus,  
  62. (2) a LaserWriter IINTX, (3) a Varityper VT-600 (true 600 DPI--not some  
  63. LED-pulse simulation on a 300 DPI engine), and (4) the NeXT Laser.
  64.  
  65. The result: the NeXT laser output quality stomped everybody but the  
  66. Varityper.  Interestingly enough, some people thought the NeXT output  
  67. looked as good or better than the Varityper.

  69. Oh, and the performance results: the NeXT laser printer stomped everybody.

  71. So, anybody that says ANY of the Apple laser printers are comparable to  
  72. the NeXT just doesn't know what their talking about in my opinion.
