  15. I hope that these questions are not FAQs and if they are.....SORRY!
  16. Basically, what I want to do is find an external floppy disk drive for my
  17. Mac Plus which can read/write DOS disks.  Ideally, it would be able to
  18. read both Mac and DOS disk and use both HD and DD disks but if it could
  19. only read DOS disks or use only HD and not DD or vice versa (or any
  20. combination) that would be OK.

  22. So, my questions are as follows:

  24. 1.  Can a Mac Plus be outfitted with such a drive?  I've read a few things
  25.     which say that the ROMs in a Plus don't support a DOS disk drive, but
  26.     these were usually in response to questions about installing an Apple
  27.     FDHD into an Plus.  I have seen a couple of products that are supposed
  28.     to be compatible with the Plus (Applied Engineering's AE+ drive and
  29.     Kennect Technologies Rapport and Drive 2.4(?)) so why would the Plus's
  30.     ROM support these external drives?
  31. 2.  Where can I get an inexpensive DOS drive?  Does anyone know of any? 
  32.     The AE+ and Drive 2.4 run about $300+ which kind of steep for a
  33.     which I'm probably going to replace in a year or two anyways with a 
  34.     computer that has a FDHD.
  35. 3.  Is it possible to just connect an IBM type external floppy drive to
  36.     Mac?  Someone I know thinks he read a posting from someone who did 
  37.     this but he wasn't sure what type of Mac it was or how it was done.
  38.     If anyone knows if this is possible with a Plus and how it can be 
  39.     done (ie. how to wire the cable, etc) please let me know.
