- The release of a newer model of machine does not automatically
- obsolete the previous models, IMHO.
-
- I use a five year old MacII every day. It does everything I
- want it to do. I just recently upgraded to 8 Meg of memory.
- It works great and, I hope, will continue to work great for
- years to come.
-
- I have ordered a IIsi for home because I can get student pricing.
- The new machines were "rumored" in MacWeek the day I placed my order.
- I had planned to buy an LCII until the student prices came down on
- the IIsi. I plan to use the IIsi far into the future, as well.
-
- Obsolesence is in the eye of the beholder. My new home machine
- will replace a company-owned SE. I am looking forward to the
- increased speed and color capability at home, but I do not believe
- that the SE is necessarily obsolete. There is a guy here at work
- who can't wait to get his hands on it when I bring it in.
