  20. Here's the rundown on the most common bugs:
  21.  
  22. o Doesn't run unless under System 7 ("could not run program because
  23. of a system error"). A stupid error on my part;
  24. will be fixed in b2.
  25.  
  26. o When dithering to one bit (if you choose One Bit from Display or
  27. on a black-and-white machine), crashes. Will be fixed in b2, along
  28. with not dithering millions-of-colors images.
  29.  
  30. o JPEG reading gets cut off (only shows part of image the size of
  31. your screen). Fixed for b2.
  32.  
  33. o JPEG writing results in damaged/partial file. Haven't gotten to
  34. this one yet, but plan to fix it for b2.
  35.  
  36. o Can't read some JPEG files. Somebody send me a sample to try out.

  38. GIFConverter requires QuickTime only if you plan on using JPEG or
  39. compressed PICT files. I recommend 32-bit Color QuickDraw because
  40. GIFConverter displays 24-bit pictures better with it installed, and
  41. it's either automatically there (as in the IIci or if you run Sys 7),
  42. or easily available for color machines. GIFConverter should continue
  43. to serve many useful purposes on non-color machines.

  45. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and that b2 isn't out yet. My weekend
  46. wasn't what I expected.
