- I am thinking about the E-Machines T16-II, as well as the NEC 5FG
- 17", for my MacIIci. I was also told that FlexScan T560i from NANAO
- U.S.A., a auto-scan 17" Trinitron monitor, is very good
- (microprocessor controlled, 120MHz or so video bandwith, etc.)
- I'd like to have comments and recommendations on monitors, as well
- as on the accompanying display card. I want to have resolution up to
- 1024x768, hopefully 1152x870, with at least 8bit color. It will be
- nice to have 16bit color at some (e.g., 832x624) resolution. Of
- course, 24bit color, if not too expensive, is nice if available.... (I
- rarely run my code on my Mac, but like to view resulting image time to
- time.)
- I have a few questions of mine, in addition to Rick's;
-
- * Is T16-II compatible with various non-E-machines display cards,
- e.g., SuperMac 8*24PDQ, Radius PrecisionColor 8x, 24x (expensive...)
- etc.?
-
- * Do these monitors work well for word-processing at 1152x870 resolution?
- Are texts clearly legible not to straing eyes ? Are fonts too small
- to read at this resolution ? How about at 1024x768 resolution ?
- (I mostly write papers on Mac, with some programming on image/graphics
- type things.)
-
- * Are the monitors as well as display cards (Futura SX, MX, DoubleColor
- LX, etc. from E-Machines, as well NEC (made by Radius) 8 and 24bit
- boards) reliable ?
-
- * Any other comments, including experience with support, place to buy, etc.
-
- Thank you
