  17. My guess is that your video cable is loose.  When this happens, the sense pins
  18. don't connect well, and the computer loses the fact that it's connected to a
  19. 12" (or if the loose connection is on the other end of the plug, the sync, or
  20. color channels may not connect).  Check this for a low-cost fix.
