- The power supply in my SE/30 appears to be dead. After a few weeks
- of shaky performance, I'm now getting no response at all when the power
- is turned on. (No response means: no startup bong, no hard disk spin up,
- and no video.
-
- When I removed the analog board and plugged in the power supply, I
- couldn't find any DC volts output on the power supply board, which
- I assume it should if it works even if it's not plugged into the Mac.
- This also seems to prove power supply failure rather than analog
- board, right?
-
- ComputerLand wants $200 plus labor. Other options are Shreve Systems
- and Pre-Owned Electronics who offer "exchange repair" deals (whole
- parts in exchange for defective part), or Soft Solutions and
- The Total Mac who offer repair kits made up of parts that commonly fail.
-
- Any feedback from someone who has worked on an SE or SE/30 would be
- greatly appreciated. I`ll write up an SE/30 home repair guide when
- I've got the damn thing running! Thanks for reading ...
