  22. My guess is either bad VRAM or they aren't installed properly (maybe
  23. loose or not seated correctly).

  25. I rented a Q700 for the MacWorld Expo and ordered it with a full compliment
  26. of VRAM so I could show 24-bit color at the show.

  28. Boy was I upset when it only gave me 8-bit color.  It didn't matter
  29. if it was hooked up a 13" or a 16" monitor.  I took them out and
  30. reinstalled them - no luck.

  32. Finally I got hold of two new VRAMs and started swapping.  I replaced
  33. the first two, no luck.  Then the next two - that was it.

  35. So there are bad VRAMs out there.  I'd try to borrow a couple of good
  36. ones and try the swapping - if you are handy enough to do it your
  37. self.  If not, have your local tech do it for a few bucks.
