- I'm completely confused here: I'm trying to help someone who bought
- a Conner 120M SCSI drive for an SE/30 to replace his dead 80M drive.
- HD Setup (from System 6 or 7) can't find a SCSI drive on the system
- when I try to initialize it. Do I need some special software to do
- the job? Another friend recommended SF&I, but it comes set-up for
- a Seagate(?) 20M drive, and I can't figure out the instructions well
- enough to re-configure it for the Conner 120M.
-
- Any advice? Do I need commercial software? Is there another
- shareware package besides SF&I? Easier to operate, if possible :-).
- Is there some trick with the termination that I'm missing?
-
- 2nd problem: I'd like to move a 160M drive from a Quadra 900 to a
- IIci as a replacement for its 80M drive. Again, HD Setup says there
- is no SCSI drive to initialize when I get to that step. The local
- Apple sales rep says it should work, but there may be termination
- problems because the 160M was from a "dual-SCSI" system.
-
- Thanks in advance for any tips. All of the Apple tech reps in the
- Pacific Northwest are in training this week. Just my luck.
