  16. The search for a graphics tablet for a Mac Plus ended, I hope, when
  17. I found an old Summagraphics MacTablet in the back of a closet at
  18. work.

  20. I hope someone out there has experience with one of these.  If so,
  21. please read on!

  23. What I have is an *original* MacTablet, complete with DB-9 connector
  24. and software versions 1.0 - 5.0 (the latter dated 1987).  I wonder
  25. whether all I need to do in order to get it working is to find the
  26. proper adapter cable--would be a female DB-9 to male Mini-DIN-8.
  27. I tried using a male DB-9 to male Mini-DIN-8 w/ a F/F DB-9 gender
  28. changer, but that didn't work.  I don't know whether the pinouts
  29. and/or pins in general were correct, though.  The ver. 5.1 DA
  30. installed and didn't hang in both System 5.0.1 and 6.0.7, but
  31. the tablet didn't work ....

  33. I hope I can get it to run under Finder on System 6.0.7.  This admittedly
  34. low-tech solution is for a friend of mine who wants only a simple,
  35. inexpensive drawing capability and has a particular desire to hook
  36. up a graphics tablet to his Plus.  This equipment would be perfect
  37. if it could be made to work.

  39. Any informed comments from someone who has experience using a
  40. Summagraphics MacTablet w/ a Mac Plus will be *greatly* appreciated.
  41. Heck, if anyone knows what happened to Summagraphics, that might be
  42. helpful, too ...!
