  21. Here's the latest and greatest things from mac.archive.umich.edu.
  22. In the next week, I'll go back into the index and refile the
  23. things that are in the "unix" directory in a new category
  24. in our index, "UNIX/".  Our index is available for you to 
  25. retrieve in our 00help directory, by the way.  It's an invaluable
  26. card catalog to the thousands of files available here at 
  27. the mac archive.

  29. We're aware of the missing "dir" and "ls -l" commands on the
  30. temporary machine (yak.css.itd.umich.edu).  As far as I
  31. can tell, "ls" by itself should work fine.  I've heard some
  32. reports that even "ls" doesn't work... and since I know
  33. the sysadmins that take care of "yak" are quite busy, 
  34. I'm very apprehensive about repeatedly asking for a fix
  35. to the problem as they know about it as well and they may
  36. try to find the problem when they can get some time.  For now
  37. I'm happy we have an ftp machine to use while we wait for the DEC
  38. to return.  If you have AFS access, you can completely 
  39. avoid ftp by just making a link in your personal AFS home
  40. directory to our archive, which is in:
  41. /afs/umich.edu/group/itd/archive/mac.

  43. There are also mirrors of mac.archive available at 
  44. wuarchive.wustl.edu, archive.au, and puffin.doc.ic.ac.uk....
