- Have you tried/heard of ResEdit? It can make files invisible quite easily:
-
- It's a shareware program and here's how to do it...
-
- When you open the program (make sure it's version 2.0 or greater), it gives you
- a common dialog box asking you which file to open. Hit "Cancel" and then select
- "Get File/Folder Info" from the FILE menu. Select the file you wish to hide
- via another dialog box and a set of options appears with the filename. One
- of those options is a checkbox labeled "Invisible". Simply check it, close the
- window (It'll ask you if you want to save the info changes, just say "yes"), and
- quit the program. Voila! your file is now invisible to the user.
-
- Note that this means you have to do this process on the machine that the hidden
- file resides, but it's the only way I know of.
-
- One good thing is that you simply take ResEdit w/you when you leave the user's
- machine, and there's no way he can undo what you did, unless he finds a copy
- himself.
-
- Hope this works for ya...
