- I have spent a lot of effort and time to develop a solution to a communications
- problem/need and now face a quandry.
-
- While I do NOT want to limit users with the hassle of copy protection,
- keys eyc. I do want to protect my s/ware. There are two ways I feel
- I can lose control of my product. One is that someone can actually
- just copy and share it, and secondly someone can see what System Folder
- files I give with my program and reverse engineer (or figure out).
-
- I therefore think that one simple solution would be to install the software
- and my Macros in the user's machine BUT to make some of the files (eg
- Macros, Scripts) INVISIBLE to the user. So even if someone copies files they
- are likely to miss the INVISIBLE files (that are essential for the
- solution to work) and so basically I will have copy protection. I know this
- solution will not be likely be perfect but for ORDINARY non hackers it
- will be sufficient, I feel.
-
- Q. Any suggestions, and also: HOW TO MAKE FILES INVISIBLE eg a file in
- Preferences or Control Panels folder?
-
- Thanks for your help
