- I am not a shareware author, but I wrote some freeware programs.
- (Not exactly PD, I own the source code, but you can distribute it for free)
- I like PD/freeware programs because :
-
- 1. I don't have the money to buy all utilities.
- I do buy commercial programs such as Windows, DOS, some utilities, though.
- Also I register shareware programs (like Waffle, pendraw, etc.)
- These are the programs that I couldn't find in the PD/freeware.
-
- 2. Most free/shareware programs have better support. Some authors give you
- free updates, whereas in commercial programs you have to pay for upgrades.
-
- 3. Some pd/free/shareware programs come with source code so you can modify it
- if needed (eg to port to UNIX). You have to pay big bucks for commerical one.
-
- 4. Most PD/freeware programs are good. Want examples ?
- zoo, kermit, several text editors (vi, emacs clone), etc..
-
-
- Have fun with PD/freeware stuff...,
