  25. Ah,..... someone from industry.  Well, in an academic environment
  26. where networks are used by hundreds (thousands?) of students, we just
  27. can't afford to spend $200 a pop for commercial ftp, telnet, news
  28. readers, and many other forms of software.  It seems in academia, many
  29. good programs are written and distributed among schools - the greatest
  30. software secret around.  Seriously, we're not for-profit, and budgets
  31. are strained.  With programming talent around (profs., students), we
  32. do alright with public domain software!
