I have had two st-1096N fail one after the other. Both from the same
problem. One lasted three months, the other a whole 15 months. I have sworn to never buy or recommend another Seagate as long as I have to use computers. The out of cost repair of the 84 MB drive will run about $170. If your lucky, keepknocking on wood, backup ALOT and pray.
