- I've just gone through my third Gateway CrystalSCAN 1024 monitor in
- two and one-half years. Since Gateway only warrantees replacement
- monitors for 30 days, this one was months beyond any warrantee.
- A friend of mine has exactly the same system that I have, and he's
- on his third monitor.
-
- When I called Gateway Tech support with questions about how other
- CrystalSCAN monitors have been holding up, they told me that they
- "get a lot of abuse," whatever that means. I was curious, because
- at this point I was wondering whether it was the monitor or something
- in my system that was causing these failures.
-
- Has anyone else had any failures with the CrystalSCAN 1024 monitor?
-
- As a post-script, I looked into repairing my monitor and found only
- one place that would touch it, and that was for a $300 estimate!
- I saved my money and bought a comparable Packard-Bell monitor. At
- least it's guaranteed for a year. -- Roman Olynyk
