  12. Thanks to the many who replied to my previous post obout geometry on the
  13. Maxtor 7120 drive.  What I has missed was the obvious.  Use FDISK after
  14. setting the geometry.

  16. I received a lot of responses with many suggestions about different geometries.
  17. If anyone would like a copy, drop me a line.  Perhaps a summary belongs in the
  18. FAQ.

  20. What I didn't receive and would like for completeness is a discription of the
  21. algorithm used by IDE drives to may from a logical geometry to the physical
  22. geometry.  If someone would forward that to me or tell me where to find it I
  23. will include that in the file.
