- I guess this should almost be a FAQ :-).
-
- Situation: I have a 386-33 clone, with AMI bios [recent revision], installed
- is a 81meg maxtor as primary HD and a 44meg seagate as secondary, however
- I am in the process of installing Linux at the moment, to replace MSDOS,
- I also have an old seagate 32meg [RLL, 20meg MFM] 69ms drive that has sat
- in my drawer unused for near on two years, Id like to try to get this drive
- mounted on my system [primarily for source code storage, not swap :-))]
-
- So I guess I would need a RLL controller that has its controller address
- selectable, and install it with a non conflicting address, then its up to
- me to see what i can do at the linux end [I havent fully investigated that
- side so far, but with kernel source code at my disposal i should be able
- to do something]. Has anyone done something similar to this [under any
- O/S]? And if so, can provide a list of controllers that support switchable
- addressing.
-
- Please Email, ill summarise if interest warrants.
