- The 16550A fixed the broken fifos of the 16550. I've used 16550A, 16550AN
- and 16550AFN and never had any problems with them (NS parts) or
- observed any difference in performance. I've talked to engineers at NS and
- never heard that the 'F' part was an improvemnt on previous parts. Can anyone
- verify that the 'F' part contains a bug fix? BTW: PC16550 supercedes 16550AFN
- and has been around for several months. The data sheet doesn't mention
- any differences between PC16550 and the 16550AFN so this may be
- yet another change in name only. I've seen PC16550's in a Netblazer (on the
- same card Telebit previously shipped with 16550AFN's).
