- (sorry I can't post)
- I've had a problem recently with my supplier: they say every time they try
- to order a 16550AFN, they are sent a (UMC) UM82C550. All the tests I put on
- this chip (modem doctor, OS/2, and x00 fossil) insist that it is a 16550
- without a buffer!
-
- The German magazine c't (Feb 1992) says the UM82550 is a 16550 replacement,
- and my supplier does too. But I can't get any of my software to see it as
- buffered, which, of course, is what I need. Have you are comments. If not,
- would it be too much to ask you to post the question for me?
-
- Thanks in advance.
