- Help.
-
- We ordered a 720 with 8 user license, and everything apparently
- came in. When we booted the machine and hung a terminal off of it,
- we found out that the version of HPUX we are running is still
- restricted to the "customary" 2 users!
-
- Well...3 more tapes came with the system: HP-UX Install Tape,
- HP-UX RUNTIME support, and HP-UX RUNTIME 8-user, so naturally,
- we assumed that all we had to do was to load the 8user tape
- via update.
-
- The message that pops up during the pre-update stage is:
-
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------
- WARNING: License fileset 08-USER is selected for loading, but it does not
- match the license level of the currently running system, which is 02-USER.
- If necessary, unselect the 08-USER and select the appropriate license fileset
- under the OS-CORE partition, that is, the fileset for the license level
- you desire or purchased.
- ----------------------------------------------------------------------
-
- Shouldn't the tape have all the info and license stuff we need to
- get the 08-USER fileset from the OS-CORE? Or is there something
- screwy going on here? Do we need to reinstall the whole thing starting from
- the INSTALL?...or re-update 8.07 (which would be pretty brain-damaged!)
- from the runtime tape? If that is the case, then there is no point
- of having Instant Ignition if it does not allow you to add the multi-user
- fileset.
-
-
- Thanks in advance.
