- I'm not sure if/how much this will help but...
-
- We had a program called PIP-11 which was written by an Australian Digit (Doug
- Tracey or Stracey ?). It could copy PDP8 format dectapes to/from PDP11 format
- dectapes running on a PDP8. Hopefully it got into the Decus Library, although
- they (DEC OZ) used to sell it originally. I added OS-8 I/O support, but the
- sources are long gone now.
-
- It was interesting to watch the program running, because of the different tape
- format (PDP11 had interleaved blocks, PDP8 sequential), so the PDP8 tape would
- rock-rock-rock to and fro furiously, while the PDP11 tape just calmly zipped
- along.
